Let’s explore why yogic practices in the workplace have numerous benefits for employees and employers alike.

Offering corporate yoga or yoga at work to your company can be a great way to improve the health and wellbeing of your employees. With the right space and guidance, your staff can benefit from a 60-minute session of yoga practice that includes meditation, posture sequences, breathing techniques and ultimate relaxation. It is recommended that people practice at least twice a week in order to get the most out of the class.

If a dedicated space is not available, then a chair and desk can be used to allow for some stretching exercises. To make the session even more effective, I also bring along some materials such as massage balls, yoga blocks, and yoga straps. This will ensure that the session is tailored to the needs of your staff and that everyone has the opportunity to get the most out of the experience. With these tools, I can help your employees to relax, unwind, and feel improved levels of energy and focus throughout the day.

Intro to Vinyasa / Yoga Flow

I had the opportunity to work in the corporate setting during my time in Shanghai, China, from 2013 to 2015.

As a yoga instructor at Simerx, an engineering company, I conducted twice-weekly yoga classes for around 30 employees, comprising a diverse mix of Brazilian and Chinese professionals. Beyond teaching yoga techniques, I focused on fostering a harmonious environment by organising team-building activities and integration sessions. Witnessing the visible positive impact on the employees’ well-being and job satisfaction was incredibly fulfilling.

Benefits of yoga classes in the Workplace

Yoga has been practiced for thousands of years and is known for its numerous physical and mental health benefits. Yoga classes offer several advantages to both individual employees, and to the workplace as a whole. Not only do yoga classes help to improve physical and mental fitness, but they also increase productivity, build team spirit, and help employees to find better ways to manage stress.

One of the major benefits of corporate yoga is improved productivity. By practicing yoga, employees are able to become more mindful and focused on their tasks. This helps to reduce procrastination, increase efficiency, and improve accuracy.  Chair yoga can be done during lunch breaks to help stretch out the body and reduce tension. It is also an excellent way to relieve strain from the neck and back muscles that can be caused by sitting in one position for long periods of time.

Corporate yoga has numerous other benefits. It can help to reduce stress, fatigue, and anxiety. It can also help to improve posture, flexibility, and overall physical health. Regular practice of corporate yoga can also help to improve concentration and focus, which can lead to improved decision-making and problem-solving skills..

Corporate yoga is a great way to promote team building. By practicing yoga together, employees are able to connect with one another on a deeper level and build strong relationships. This can help to improve communication, collaboration, and cooperation, which are all essential components of a successful business.

Additionally, corporate yoga has been linked to improved morale. Studies have shown that incorporating yoga into the workplace can help to reduce tension among employees and create a more positive work environment.

Offering yoga classes in the workplace can also motivate employees and help to build a positive, supportive work environment. Thus, incorporating yoga classes into the workplace is a great way to promote the well-being of employees and help to create a successful, productive business.
